The Auto Skills Development Center: Enhancing Mission Readiness for Active Duty and Families
At the Auto Skills Development Center (ASDC) located at 1250 Birch St., we take vehicle maintenance seriously. We're not just here to help, we are here to ensure our Active Duty service members, Spouses, and Family Members keep their vehicles running safely and reliably, directly contributing to mission readiness.
This fall, the ASDC is rolling out no-nonsense resources focused on equipping Active Duty and family members with the skills they need to handle basic vehicle maintenance. No more excuses!
Spouse Tune Up
Active-Duty Spouses can learn how to conduct a basic vehicle safety inspection and the basics of vehicle maintenance in this class (children not permitted), $8 per person.
Oil Change 101
This class, exclusively for Active-Duty Military, teaches how to properly change the oil in your vehicle. The cost is $8 per person.
Pre-Holiday Safety Inspection
Active Duty and Spouses, get your vehicle inspected for free. We'll check your tires, fluids, brakes, lights, windshield, windows, wipers, hoses, battery, seatbelts, and horn. Don't let your vehicle be the delay your holiday plans.
Teen Tune Up
Teens aged 13-18 can enjoy pizza while learning the basics of automotive care and preventative maintenance. They will also learn to recognize unsafe conditions on their vehicles. This class is $8 per person.
In addition to these activities, the center offers oil changes, tire services, NC State Inspections, alignments, and more. We also provide Do-It-Yourself opportunities with bays, lifts, and motorcycle lifts available for a small fee.
