Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB)/Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT)

DLAB assesses a Marine's potential to learn a new language, serving as a prerequisite for language training and certain specialties. 
DLPT measures a Marine's existing fluency in a specific foreign language through reading and listening skills.
